Happiness before success, not after...
I posed this journalling prompt a few weeks back on the Lantern House Consulting facebook page. This last week I watched a very funny and thought provoking Ted Talk by Shawn Achor about ‘The Happiness Advantage’. He’s one of the worlds leading experts on the connection between happiness and success. I loved it so much I shared it with my kids (especially my 15 year old who’s studying for NCEA and easily stressed). And then I shared it with everyone at my work - setting them a challenge of standing in front of the mirror first think in the morning and saying 3 things they’re grateful for, for the next 21 days. It has to be 3 different things every day. It’s such an amazing way to start the day - reflecting on positive things in our lives instead of negative ones. Just a couple of minutes a day can make us so much happier, and then we’ll be more resilient, smarter, more focused and have a much better chance of living a life we’ll love. I challenge you to try it, and see what difference it makes in you!
