Kittens and Goals
So… my children had been asking for a couple of months about getting a new pet. We already have 2 dogs (a bichon and a chihuahua) and a very large cat (he’s bigger than the dogs) called Henry. As a delaying tactic I told them that when we achieved certain work and financial goals that we could get a kitten. Anyhow, our goals were smashed far sooner than I expected. So welcome to the family, Athena Seraphina Namur Harvey! She’s a total smoochy purr pot and we’re all in love with her (well the humans are, and the other animals are adjusting).
To get to this point I set some SMART Goals. In case you haven’t heard this before, when you set goals you need them to be:-
S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Achievable
R - Realistic
T - Timely
All too often with our goals we don’t really spell out clearly what we want and timeframes to achieve them by. We know loosely what we want but don’t put it down on paper and commit to achieving it. If you aren’t sure how to set yourself goals and if you aren’t sure what you want from life, sometimes it helps to get some assistance from a Coach. And then you too can have a kitten climbing around and playing with the laptop charging cable as you write your blog :-)
